Newsletter June `26
"Job Action Project"
As of the end of June, the project had 14 young participants; therefore, one place is available. We were able to welcome three new participants to our team, while one participant was removed due to lack of participation, in consultation with the Job Center.
Despite the persistent summer heat, the participants continued to work diligently and with great motivation on the project.
Craft activities at St. Elisabeth Kindergarten (Eisenberg)
The metal railing of the outdoor shelter was sanded by hand with coarse sandpaper and then painted gray twice.
For the outdoor area, we made a seating circle out of logs for the children and teachers. The logs were cut to seat height, peeled, and sanded with an orbital sander.
Georg von Neumayer School (Kirchheimbolanden)
As a safety measure on a steep section, a fence was erected to prevent accidents. The school ordered the safety fence for this purpose. The participants drilled and screwed the support posts into the frame. Then the fence panels were attached.
Work in the Erdekaut Landscape Conservation Area (Eisenberg)
On the steps of the rear entrance, the washed-up soil was removed and the steps were filled with gravel. We also installed a new wooden railing along the edge of the stairs. This required setting the posts in concrete and bolting the handrail in place.
Furthermore, a new sheep pen was built and installed.
Donnersberg Child Protection Association (Eisenberg)
Participants crafted benches for the Child Protection Association in the woodworking shop. For this, tree trunks were peeled and cut to size. The individual parts were then assembled and delivered. A gravel bed had to be laid before the benches were installed to allow for drainage.
Social and Educational Support
In addition to the practical tasks, another focus was on social and educational support. Regular individual and group meetings were held to support personal development goals. Furthermore, individual application documents were created and successfully submitted together. Case-specific consultations and discussions were also held with psychologists, the youth welfare office, and supervisors of youth residential groups.
