"Job Action Project"

As of the cut-off date at the end of May, the project recorded a total of twelve young participants; thus, three places are still available. Fortunately, one participant was able to be reintegrated into the program after a break.

Manual Work at St. Elisabeth Kindergarten (Eisenberg)
In the kindergarten’s outdoor area, the agenda focused on upgrading the shelter. The work began with meticulous preparation: the brick wall was thoroughly primed using a masonry brush and subsequently professionally repainted in two coats using facade paint. Concurrently, the participants de-rusted the iron railing, which was then coated twice with varnish. The adjacent doors were also given a fresh new look: following sanding, they were primed and painted using a specialized wood paint.

Installation of the Fire Truck at the Eichenwäldchen Kindergarten (Kriegsfeld)
Following successful inspection and approval by the TÜV, the fire truck has now taken up its permanent place at the kindergarten. The preparatory work involved excavating the topsoil and laying a layer of gravel as frost protection, upon which the vehicle was securely positioned.

Work in the Erdekaut Eisenberg Landscape Protection Area
A new area of work opened up for the team in the Erdekaut Landscape Protection Area. To ensure the young participants were optimally familiarized with the local conditions and surroundings before commencing work, a joint on-site inspection took place on May 26, 2026.

In the first step of the project, a new barrier was erected along one side of the stairwell. To ensure stability, posts were firmly embedded in concrete using quick-setting mix. Additionally, the participants constructed a frame for the old mining carts in order to reduce their internal volume. In the future, this space will be filled with clay and displayed as an exhibit at the mining museum.

Socio-educational Support
In addition to the practical craft-related tasks, a further key focus lay on socio-educational support. Regular individual and group sessions were held to facilitate the pursuit of personal development goals. Furthermore, individual job application materials were jointly prepared and successfully submitted.

Report on the "JobAction" Project (with Open Spots)

Support on the Path to a Professional Future: Open Spots Available in the “Job Action” Project

The Donnersbergkreis Non-Profit Employment and Qualification Company (GBQ) fosters and supports young and unemployed individuals on their path to employment, as well as in achieving personal and social stability. The "Job Action" project targets young people under the age of 30 who are currently not enrolled in school, vocational training, or employed. For this group, "Job Action" offers the opportunity to acquire personal and practical skills, thereby preparing themselves for the job or apprenticeship market. There are currently vacancies available within the project.

Judith Schappert, Managing Director of the GBQ, encourages young job seekers and their families: “Please feel free to reach out to us—even if you simply have questions, or if you are wondering whether ‘Job Action’ might be the right fit for you or your children. Life sometimes places obstacles in the path of young people, too, but support and opportunities are available. We both encourage and challenge our participants, while simultaneously working on meaningful projects—for instance, for schools and kindergartens within the Donnersberg district. These projects include, among other things, nature-based initiatives for outdoor grounds, or the production of wooden toys and children’s loungers. In addition, we offer training courses, ‘soft skills’ coaching, and team-building events; we also foster individualized career planning, assist with career orientation, and provide job application training.”

The GBQ Workshop is located in Marnheim. Anyone interested in "Job Action" may get in touch via email (This email address is being protected from spambots. Newsletter April `26

"Job Action Project"

At the end of April, the project had 11 participants, leaving four places still available. One participant left the project because the referring agency changed, making an extension of their participation impossible.

We were pleased to welcome a new participant. She was introduced to the project and the initial work in the woodworking shop, and a safety inspection was carried out.

In April, some participants were on vacation due to the Easter holidays.

In Kriegsfeld, the slide at the Eichenwäldchen kindergarten was restored. The wood was sanded and repainted in several stages.

Since the weather has improved, various grounds maintenance tasks were carried out at our cooperation partners, such as the Georg-von-Neumayer-School, to practice landscaping and gardening skills. These tasks included trimming the hedge with pruning shears and disposing of the green waste.

Another component was career orientation. We conducted two training sessions on April 9th and 16th, 2026, focusing on the field of horticulture and landscaping. Together with the participants, we discussed the training content of the profession and explored the various design options for flowerbeds and gardens. To conclude the training session, we visited Luisenpark in Mannheim together.

Furthermore, we prepared the participants for the company visit to DIHAG Gienanth GmbH in Eisenberg on April 13, 2026. For some participants, this company visit presented a significant challenge due to the working conditions on site (loud, hot, and dusty).

We also had the opportunity to visit Basalt AG in Kirchheimbolanden with our participants on April 24, 2026.

At both companies, participants had the opportunity to learn extensively about the training opportunities.

As a result, one participant decided to apply to Gienanth, and another is very interested in an internship at Basalt AG.

Updating the support plans and reviewing the goal formulations was a task of the social work support team. Individual job applications were written and job searches were conducted.

Furthermore, we supported some participants with individual consultations. Likewise, in individual case discussions, contact with the youth welfare office and the social psychiatric service was intensified together with the participants.

Newsletter March `26

"Job Action Project"

At the end of March, the project had 12 participants, leaving three places vacant. Two participants completed the project: one started school and one changed programs.

We welcomed two new participants. The initial focus for the new participants was on learning the basic fundamentals.

In March, our project to build a fire engine for the Eichenwäldchen kindergarten in Kriegsfeld was completed.

First, they went into the forest to cut down suitable wood for the further construction of the vehicle. Afterwards, the felled trees were transported to the workshop, the bark removed, the wood cut to size, and sanded.

After the team completed the basic frame for the vehicle last month, they moved on to the finishing touches. The individual wooden beams for the surrounds of the driver's cab and the rear bench seat were varnished several times with sanding in between, and then mounted on the fire truck.

The vehicle was also fitted with a dashboard and steering wheel, and the front panels were decorated with lettering and a coat of arms.

Finally, we installed the painted bench seats for the driver's cab and the rear seats. After that, the car was secured to three wooden beams and the tires were mounted. At the handover, the participants received much praise for this project and their successful work.

Updating the support plans and reviewing the goal formulations was a task of the social work support team.

Furthermore, we supported some participants with individual consultations, and assistance for self-help initiatives was initiated. Likewise, contact with the youth welfare office and the social psychiatric service was intensified in individual case discussions with the participants.

On March 9, 2026, we visited EKW GmbH in Eisenberg with the participants and enjoyed an interesting tour of the facilities. Due to current events, a training session on the state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate was held on March 17, 2026.

At the end of the month, we explored the district town of Kirchheimbolanden with the participants. Our visits included the local authority, the district administration, the job center, and various advice centers.
